Our love of barn conversions started here.

Our first job was to erect a full supporting scaffold as the barn was in real danger of collapsing. The oak timber frame required lifting off its original brick plinth and major replacement of many of the oak timber componence including a new oak base plate.

New strip foundations were installed and brick plinth rebuilt to the correct detail. The barn was then lowered back down onto the brick plinth. Our highly skilled oak joiners were in their element during this operation whilst overs were shaking in their boots.

Once the timber frame was back in place a completely new oak floor was installed too the mid-rail forming the exposed oak first floor.

The remaining oak frame had replacement oak timber installed where necessary with traditional morticed and tenon joints with oak pegs. On completion of the oak framework the barn looked magnificent, the smell of the new oak joinery gives off an inspiration and lifts the expectations of any conversion.

Natural stone and oak floors, inglenook fireplace with brassier beam and bread oven, handmade kitchen adapted from the old pine furniture were all installed.

The two bedroom annex building was a total rebuild which was designed on the same specification as the main barn, all materials used were to match the barn and once complete finished off this high quality development.

Stable buildings were erected in the vast 6-acre plot and landscaping to the formal gardens including the planting of a mature native hedge row to each boundary.

The end result was a magnificent 5 bedroomed barn with a detached annex.
