Chelsea Barracks
Chelsea Barracks

The original barracks, excluding the chapel, were demolished in June 1960 and construction started on two 13-storey concrete tower blocks designed by Tripe and Wakeham. They were completed in 1962. The site is now owned by the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA).

To repair the concrete of the residential block
The defective concrete of the over-sailing course was cut back to a sound core; stainless steel reinforcing was installed and timber shuttering fixed to form exact detail.
Our concrete repair mortar was poured and left to set. The timber shuttering was then struck and float finished to match the original detail.
On completion, a flood coat of water repellent was applied to the new concrete.
NB: To effect the repairs on the 10th floor facia, a hanging scaffold was errected
