RAGSTONE REPAIRS:
Each defective ragstone was cut back to a sound core.
In areas in excess of 25mm deep, stainless steel dowels were inserted for reinforcement.
Next, the stonework was repaired and repointed using our specialist lime based ragstone repair mortar to match in line colour and detail.
BRICK REPAIRS:
Each defective brick was cut back to a sound base.
In areas in excess of 25mm deep, stainless steel dowels were inserted for reinforcement.
Next, the brickwork was repaired and repointed using our specialist lime based brick repair mortar to match in line colour and detail.
RAGSTONE POINTING:
The original pointing joints were cut back to a depth of 25mm using hand tools.
The joints were then hosed down with clean water to remove all dust and debris.
The joints were repointed with a lime based mortar to a traditional masonry finish.
BRICK POINTING:
Carefully cut back
The original pointing joints were cut back to a depth of 18mm. Using a dust extractor minimized dust.
The joints were then hosed down with clean water to remove all dust and debris.
Using a 3:1 ratio lime based mortar, the joints were repointed to a traditional masonry finish.
